Today was a day that I just wanted to sit down and type out my thoughts. Not really sure what the theme of this blog will be, or if it has anything to really do with fitness or nutrition, but it’s something that’s been on my mind lately.

I’ll be honest where there was a time where I would flat out judge and almost belittle those who never explored outside their hometown. My judgement, however, has turned more into understanding. I can understand that leaving a place you’ve known all your life is extremely terrifying. Making any change in life is terrifying, and it takes a massive amount of guts to do so.

It’s funny because I have made SO many changes in my life already...made so many life-daring moves that looking back, I can now see that I am extremely lucky that I have this life now.

But one thing I also realize, is that all of the risks I took were made on a whim. They were made without having fully thinking things through because I would get this idea in my head and just go with it without really thinking about the consequences. God bless my parents, LOL.

Now that I’m older, I do take the time to consider all the factors I can before making a decision, but it’s impossible to know for sure what the outcome of that decision will be!

Anyways...

I do struggle to understand those who say they are completely satisfied with everything in their life.

One of my favorite quotes is from Albert Einstein when he said, “If you’re not changing, you’re not growing.”

“If you’re not changing, you’re not growing.” -Albert Einstein

I personally believe that no matter how happy we are with our lives, there’s always something we can improve on. No one is perfect, no life is perfect, and if we aren’t trying to improve ourselves and the life we are living, then frankly, what is the point?

Were we given this life to just go through the motions? I don’t think so.

Stagnant water smells and who wants to smell?

So why do we let the fear of change hold us back? Why do we settle for being satisfied when we have the power within ourselves to be so much more? Sure, life is good. I can say I’m happy with my life, but I am far from being satisfied with it.

I have so many goals for myself in regards to my career, my lifestyle, my future, never mind the fitness goals I have.

On top of that, there are many things within myself I want to work on. Lord knows, I have a ton to work on…

"Stagnant water smells and who wants to smell?"

I guess this has been on my mind because of all the NYE resolution posts going around and it has me thinking of my own personal goals.

I don’t know if this post makes any sense! But here are some final points to leave you with:

  • Don’t settle. Ever. Search within yourself what you can improve and make a plan.

  • Life is about LIVING. It’s about doing things that make your heart race a little faster, that gets you excited, and that makes you feel like a kid again.

  • Embrace fear. Yes, hug it with all your might. You’re always going to feel fear when making a change so ACCEPT it, and don’t let it stop you.

So raise your glass of eggnog, ladies and gents…

...Here’s to Health. Cheers.
