Some people were born knowing EXACTLY what they were meant to do when they grew up. It’s almost like someone stamped it on their forehead the day they were born.

Lucky ducks.

"It’s almost like someone stamped it on their forehead the day they were born. "

I, unfortunately, was not one of these little ducklings. I have gone through my entire life NOT knowing what I was suppose to do “when I grow up”, and lemme tell you, it’s been a struggle.

But alas! I discovered there was one thing consistent in my life...fitness. Phew.

My Fitness Journey

Let’s take it back to the beginning…

I entered the fitness world at the age of five by having my first swimming lesson and frankly, I wasn't too shabby. Forest Gump could run; I could swim.

(...shall we continue with the whole ducky theme?...)

Throughout the years, I dabbled in a little bit of everything...soccer, softball, boxing, you name it.

I started lifting weights and becoming serious about nutrition in college when I joined the crew team (like I said, I’ve done a little bit of everything lol). When I hurt my back rowing, I switched to being a coxswain (the person yelling at the rest of the rowers). Coxswains are traditionally smaller in stature to prevent adding additional weight for the rowers to pull. Being that I was somewhat tall (around 5’ 6”), I lost an unhealthy amount of weight to make up for my height.

"This weight loss eventually lead me to slowly develop a very negative relationship with food."

This weight loss eventually lead me to slowly develop a very negative relationship with food. This relationship mixed with the stresses of life resulted in a 5 year long bingeing illness. But we will dive into that another day…

Fit Today

Anywho! Fitness and nutrition stuck with me throughout the rest of my life, and I actually just competed in my FIRST bikini bodybuilding competition (woot! woot!). What an eye opener that was...but prepping for this competition lit a fire in me that I never felt before.

For the first time in my life I knew EXACTLY what I was meant to do; I was to take all the health baloney in my head and share it with others.

Who’s the lucky duck now?

So raise your glass, little ducklings!

...Here’s to Health. Cheers.
